Price and how you start
FundingPips is among the cheapest quality firms — a 2-Step Pro starts around $29 — and offers four routes in (1-Step, 2-Step, 2-Step Pro and Zero instant funding) from $5K to $200K. FundedNext starts a little higher (standard evaluation from around $59) but spreads across Evaluation, Express and Stellar models, so you can match the rules to your trading style.
FundedNext’s signature feature is that you can earn a profit share during the challenge phase, not just after funding — a real, tangible perk that no FundingPips program matches. If getting paid before you pass appeals, that alone can tip the decision.
Split, payouts and reputation
On the split, FundingPips leads on paper with up to 100% versus FundedNext’s up to ~90%, and on payout speed it is hard to beat — typically within 24 hours, by bank or USDC. Both firms have large, satisfied trader bases; FundingPips’ 32,000+ Trustpilot reviews at ~4.5 is one of the strongest review profiles in prop trading.
Both are newer firms (2022), so neither has the decade-long record of an FTMO. We have not tested either firm’s payouts ourselves and report reputation as the public record. On the metrics that are visible, FundingPips’ price, payout speed and review base give it a slight overall edge.
Platforms, and who each suits
Platform stacks are similar: FundingPips runs MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader and TradeLocker; FundedNext runs MT4, MT5 and cTrader. If you specifically need MetaTrader 4, FundedNext has it; otherwise both cover the mainstream forex/CFD tools.
Pick FundingPips for the cheapest entry, fastest payouts, a 100% split or instant funding. Pick FundedNext if you want to earn during the challenge or prefer choosing among Evaluation, Express and Stellar models. Both restrict US retail on CFDs.
